We are lucky to have our own planted garden here at Queens View Harbour Care Home, which allows residents to enjoy a peaceful outside space to stretch their legs, get some vitamin D, and take in natural beauty.
Our lovely gardens are the perfect area for individuals to have some alone time or to welcome family members outside for afternoon tea.
When the sun shines, our Activity Coordinator organises a range of activities, including gardening, in our serene garden. Members can join the gardening club, which assists residents in planting flowers in the various gardens and allotments we have, maintaining the numerous plants and flowers throughout the property, and replenishing bird feeders. There is always something for all of our residents to participate in and enjoy thanks to our various garden amenities.
Residents and employees at Queens View Harbour Care Home look forward to the warm summer months as much as the cold winter months. We make every effort to take advantage of the dry, warm weather as much as possible, which is why we provide outside BBQs and entertainment for residents, employees, and family members on a regular basis. Outdoor activities provide fantastic social opportunities, allowing loved ones to participate in the fun as well. Our garden is as lovely in the winter, transforming into a true Winter Wonderland for both residents and visitors.

We firmly believe that offering our residents the opportunity to spend time outdoors regularly, breathe in fresh air, participate in outdoor activities, and connect with nature is essential for their overall well-being. Being outdoors comes with numerous mental and physical advantages, including reducing stress and anxiety, enhancing mood, promoting cardiovascular health, improving balance, and strengthening muscles.
We offer many outdoor activities including walking, gardening, lawn games, and golf, and when the sun is shining, residents can dine al fresco and enjoy live entertainment.
In order to ensure our gardens are accessible to everyone, we have included wheelchair-accessible paths and plenty of seated furniture. Our private garden is also safe and secure with appropriate fencing and gates, to prevent residents from going beyond the garden perimeters. Our walking paths are well-maintained and there is outdoor lighting and other safety features to help prevent accidents.
