Planning Activities for the Year Ahead

January activites at Queens View Harbour Care Home

We’ve had a brilliant start to the year here at Queens View Harbour, with our residents getting stuck into a wonderful mix of activities both at home and out and about in the community. January is always an exciting month for us, as the activities team sits down to plan out a whole year of fun, and this year’s already shaping up to be something special.

This month, we’ve had yoga sessions with the fantastic Carlo, who’s been helping everyone stretch, relax, and find a bit of inner peace. The residents also had a brilliant time at Musical Memories over at Alloway Church – there’s nothing quite like a good singalong to lift the spirits! Back at the care home, our in-house Church services have been a great comfort to many, offering time for reflection and togetherness. And for a wee bit of history, some of the residents took a trip to Dundonald Castle, where they enjoyed a fascinating look back in time (and a warm cuppa to finish the day, of course).

It’s so important for our residents to stay connected with the community – it keeps everyone feeling part of something bigger and makes a huge difference in reducing feelings of isolation. From walks in the fresh air to tea dances, these outings are more than just good fun; they’re a chance to meet new faces, share a laugh, and make lovely memories. You can see the happiness in the photos – big smiles, warm friendships, and those little moments that mean so much.

We’ve already got plenty of ideas brewing for the year ahead, but if January is anything to go by, 2025 is going to be a cracker of a year! If you'd like to find out more about how we ensure our residents stay busy and happy at Queens View Harbour, then get in touch to book a personalised tour.
