Our New Gardening Club

Resident Sitting in Chair

The long summer days are finally approaching us and with that, we have had some pleasant sunshine recently. This has brought us the opportunity to be out and about a bit more, and also to make good use of our wonderful gardens. The residents and staff have also been enjoying the beautiful colours that this season brings, even more so thanks to our new Tuesday Gardening Club!

The last few weeks, our gardeners have been hard at work, planting lots of lovely bright flowers and the gardens have really come to life, just in time for the summer. The Gardening Club is run on a weekly basis under the guidance of one of our gentleman residents, who is a keen gardener and a great ambassador for the club.

This gentleman recently planned to visit a Lugten Garden Centre and Nursery with the team to purchase more plants and flowers for us to enjoy at Queens View Harbour. He has even brought some Dahlias from his own garden to plant in our borders here.

He has great plans for the future of our garden and is currently planning where to plant all the shrubs and flowers and also prepare the ground for future sowing. There are several residents and staff who enjoy gardening or who have had it as a previous hobby, and they are thrilled to be a part of this new initiative which will see our gardens and grounds enhanced in the forthcoming months.

We are extremely thankful to our residents and staff members who have contributed such great efforts to make our gardens a place for all to enjoy. We will continue to encourage our residents to take part in either gardening or using the garden, as it has great benefits on their physical and mental health.

No matter what, we will always endeavour to ensure our residents can enjoy their hobbies or pursue new interests, as we strongly believe in the importance of our residents continuing to do the things they love and living an active and social lifestyle.
