Feeling Festive at Queens View Harbour
With the festive season upon us, residents, relatives, and staff at Queens View Harbour Care Home are getting into the Christmas spirit.
We're all feeling festive at Queens View Harbour Care Home, and we have already had plenty of Christmas fun, with lots more to come. So far this December, residents have participated in Christmas crafts, baking, film afternoons, and a Christmas raffle, not to mention our usual activities of yoga, crosswords, coffee mornings, and more.
We have also had a couple of special Christmas events such as a group of our residents who got to experience the festiveness in our local community of Troon. Our town has so much to offer, and it was lovely for the residents to take a look around the shops and cafés. The residents even stopped off in Lido for a hot chocolate and cake, which very much went down a treat!
There have also been plenty of festivities taking place in our care home too. We have had several musical-themed visits recently from all kinds of members of our local community. The children from Marina View Nursery came to perform a selection of Christmas carols, which brought much joy to our residents.
We also had a visit from Troon Singing Choir who beautifully performed a number of Christmas hits, as well as Emma Durkin who came into our home to entertain us all with her harp whilst residents enjoyed spiced mulled wine and warm mince pies. We are very fortunate to have such wonderful members in our community and we want to thank them all for helping us get into the Christmas spirit.
On Monday 19th December, we held a cheese and wine night for our residents and their relatives. Put together by our Chefs and Activities team, it was a wonderfully festive evening which gave our residents and their loved ones the opportunity to spend time together indulging in Christmas treats and making special memories.
The fun doesn't stop there, however, as our Activity Coordinators have done a fantastic job of creating a full and festive activities programme for the whole of December, so there is plenty more coming up for our residents to enjoy over Christmas and into the new year.
A varied and luxury lifestyle is something that we feel at Queens View Harbour Care Home is incredibly important. We believe every resident should be given plenty of opportunity to continue doing the hobbies they love, try new things and meet different people.
It is also crucial to us that we continue our resident's traditions, and we do all we can to ensure that occasions that are special to our residents continue to be celebrated. We are also delighted to welcome relatives and members of our local community to join in with the fun and we look forward to seeing many of you over the Christmas period.
It has been a great year for us meeting new people, making special memories and also fundraising £584.00 for West FM Cash for kids. We hope this money makes a difference to many children’s Christmas wishes this year and we'd like to thank you all again for your kind donations.
From everyone at Queens View Harbour Care Home in Troon, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
