4 generations of the family

Congratulations Great Granny Frances!

Frances was delighted when she was made a Great Granny for the first time giving her 4 generations in her family!

Family is extremely important to us here at Queens View Harbour. Family offers emotional support, nurtures feelings of belonging, and encourages educational growth! Being part of a family helps you to create strong relationships and provides a sense of belonging.

Conversations between different generations in a family are valuable as they give everyone access to new experiences and perspectives. Learning from older people and sharing insights with younger members of the family is a great opportunity to widen your knowledge—whether it's about the local area, how we used to live, or what you can do with a smartphone! Having your grandparents' wisdom is a wonderful opportunity for grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

4 generations in our care home in Troon

One of the greatest pleasures of being a grandparent is the ability to spoil your grandkids. Whether it’s treating them to their favourite sweets or a wee toy, you get to be the fun, indulgent presence in their lives. While it’s not just about material gifts, these moments of spoiling are part of creating lasting memories and special bonds. Often, you’ll be the one to say 'yes' when their parents say 'no,' adding a bit of extra excitement to their lives.

Frances and her family have kindly allowed us to share her new absolutely wonderful news of the birth of her first great-grandson Robbie! He’s even been to visit us here at Queens View Care Home in Ayrshire and with everyone falling for him already I think we can say he is now a regular visitor! Being able to say you have 4 generations in your family is something wonderful and we're all looking forward to seeing more of baby Robbie, his mum Stephanie, and Granny Alison when they pop in to visit Frances.

At Queens View Harbour we are all family and are doors are open to friends and families from near and far. We have various sources of technology, telephones and lots of different ways that we can do to keep us all in touch with each other. Whether you're in Troon itself or on the other side of the world please contact us and we will be happy to help you keep in touch with your family member.

Family is important to everyone here at Queens View Harbour and its important for us to make sure people remain connected no matter where they are in the world.

Here at Queens View Harbour having the support from residents, friends and families plus our own network of support is vitally important to keep our community together. We love using our local amenities and spend as much time as we can (weather permitting) outside in our garden, where everyone who walks past is able to stop and have a chat with us. The community of Troon is a bustling town and we enjoy a coffee and cake in some of the small coffee shops or attending the dancing in the local town hall.
