A Touch of Hollywood Glamour

Health and nutrition week at Queens View Harbour

We love any excuse for a celebration at Queens View Harbour, so when National Nutrition and Hydration Week came around, our residents and activities team put their heads together to plan something special. The result? A Breakfast at Tiffany’s-themed afternoon filled with good food, great company, and plenty of sparkle!

Our lounge was transformed into a stunning, glamorous setting with beautiful Tiffany-blue decorations, pearls, and elegant table settings. The effort that went into creating the theme was clear to see—residents were welcomed to tables adorned with stylish centrepieces, delicate china, and shimmering accessories that captured the essence of classic Hollywood. Many of our ladies (and some of the team!) dressed the part, donning fabulous black dresses, oversized sunglasses, and strings of pearls in true Audrey Hepburn style.

The kitchen team outdid themselves, preparing a spectacular afternoon tea that was both delicious and nutritious. With delicate sandwiches, fresh fruit, beautifully decorated cakes, and of course, plenty of tea, it was a feast fit for a film star! To keep everyone refreshed, we served eye-catching Tiffany-blue mocktails, making hydration a little more glamorous.

Making sure our residents eat well and stay hydrated is something we focus on every day, but events like this make it even more enjoyable. As we get older, staying well-nourished is essential for maintaining strength, energy, and overall wellbeing. Hydration is just as important, as older adults may not always feel thirsty even when their bodies need fluids. That’s why we love turning these essentials into a fun and social occasion—because good food and good company go hand in hand!

It was a joy to see so many smiling faces, laughter, and conversation flowing throughout the afternoon. With the success of this Breakfast at Tiffany’s event, we’re already thinking about what fabulous theme we can bring to our next big get-together!

We love creating special moments for our residents at Queens View Harbour, where every day is filled with warmth, friendship, and the highest standard of care. If you’d like to learn more about life in our home or arrange a visit, we’d love to welcome you. Get in touch to arrange a visit.
